KOBAN OPTYK › Oława, Chrobrego
OŁAWA · UNDER THE HIGH-RISE · SINCE 2015
Optician Oława – ul. B. Chrobrego 20E/III
If you don't need new glasses, we'll tell you plainly.
Your examiner: MSc Eng. Martyna, and in the showroom you'll be welcomed by Kasia. Initial test PLN 0, 20–30 minutes.

Sound familiar?
“I squint to read TV subtitles or road signs”
Squinting is the most common sign of short-sightedness; in 20 minutes we'll check whether it's a vision problem and what kind, and if you don't need glasses, we'll tell you plainly.
“I hold my book and phone further away to read”
After forty the eye focuses less well up close – this is natural, and it's solved by reading glasses with a power chosen for your eyes, not ready-made ones from the pharmacy.
“Car headlights dazzle me at night”
It's most often a small, uncorrected prescription or lenses without anti-reflective coating – we'll check both, and if cataract is suspected we'll refer you to an ophthalmologist.
“I get headaches after working at the computer”
It's often a small prescription or unequal power between your eyes that tires you at a screen – we'll check and tell you whether single-vision lenses will do or whether you'd be better off with computer glasses.
“I have glasses, but I see worse in them than I used to”
Your vision changes over time and old glasses stop fitting; bring them in, we'll measure their power and compare it with today's result.

Before you book
Is this the former Optyk Dublet?
Yes. The same store at the same address, ul. B. Chrobrego 20E/III. Only the name has changed – the team, the examination room and the phone number stayed.
Where can I park?
There are two car parks around the high-rise: one from ul. Piotra Własta, closer to the 3 Maja road and the Orange store, the other behind the high-rise, closer to the bus station.
Does an eye test hurt?
No. It consists of reading letters, or pictures for children; nothing touches the eye.
Will you put drops in my eyes? Will I be able to drive afterwards?
No, we don't use eye drops, so right after the test you can get behind the wheel as normal.
How much does it cost and do I have to buy anything after the test?
The test costs PLN 0 and you don't have to buy anything. You pay PLN 100 only for a paper prescription – and only if you want to have the glasses made in another store.
Do I need an appointment?
For an eye test – yes: online or by phone on 514 297 791. With your own prescription you can walk in without an appointment.

How long will I wait for my glasses?
Single-vision glasses made from lenses in stock are usually ready after 1–2 working days, because we grind them on site. Good lenses but a worn-out frame? We'll re-cut them into a new one the same day.
How long does a visit take and do I have to come twice?
The test takes 20–30 minutes, about an hour with choosing a frame, and you come a second time only for collection and fitting.
Can the price go up at collection?
No. If we priced your glasses at, say, PLN 500 when you ordered, you pay exactly PLN 500 at collection.
Will you test my child's eyes?
Yes, we test children from age 5 just as carefully and just as free of charge as adults. For younger ones we fill prescriptions from a paediatric ophthalmologist.
Can I try progressives before buying?
Yes, you put them on in the examination room and check distance, computer and reading before you order. If you don't get used to them within 30 days, we'll replace the lenses with others free of charge.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, Santander instalments; you apply on the spot with an ID card, and approval depends on the bank's assessment. We also accept the Large Family Card and the senior card.
Do you fit contact lenses?
Yes, fitting costs from PLN 150 and includes the examination, trial lenses, training in inserting them and a free check-up visit.
