An eye test with us is always free – no purchase required, no set hours, no asterisks and no small print. Here are all our prices in one place, so that before your visit you know exactly what you pay for – and what you don't pay for at all.

Price list at a glance
Specialist consultation – PLN 0, really, and no asterisks
In many stores a "free eye test" comes with small print: only on certain days, only at certain hours, or only if you buy glasses. With us there is no small print. The specialist consultation is always free – a quick measurement of your prescription with the DNEye scanner and a talk about the result, for adults and children, in each of our four stores, six days a week, no referral and no obligation to buy.
Why? Because we earn on well-fitted glasses and lenses, not on the test itself. If you buy nothing after the test – nothing happens, and nobody will pressure you. DNEye professional examination – PLN 300
For people who want to know more about their eyes than is needed just to choose glasses. The examination takes about 60 minutes on the DNEye Rodenstock scanner. In addition to measuring your prescription, we carry out:
- corneal thickness measurement (pachymetry) – important, among other things, for interpreting the eye pressure result,
- intraocular pressure measurement – raised pressure is one of the risk factors for glaucoma,
- addition measurement – that is, the power needed for reading; the basis for progressive glasses,
- eye assessment for cataract.
Fixed price: PLN 300. Important: this is an optometric examination, not a medical one. We do not make diagnoses or treat – if any result worries us, we will tell you plainly and refer you to an ophthalmologist.
Contact lens examination and fitting – PLN 150–500
Lens fitting is the only paid examination "to start with" – because you walk out with lenses. The price includes:
- a full eye test with measurements for lenses,
- a pair of monthly lenses with a small bottle of solution or 10 daily lenses,
- training in inserting and removing them – until you're confident, with no rush,
- a free check-up visit after a few days of wearing them.
We keep adjusting until it's right. If the first lens doesn't sit perfectly, we try others – you don't pay a single zloty for additional lenses during the fitting. Why the PLN 150–500 range? It comes from the type of lenses: ordinary spherical ones are the cheapest to fit; toric (for astigmatism) and multifocal (for distance and near) need more measurements and trials. Glasses – what the price depends on
Progressive lenses start at PLN 1000 a pair – that is PLN 500 per lens. The frame you choose is added on top. The final price depends on the lens design (the width of the fields of vision) and coatings – at your visit we show several options at different prices and explain how they differ. We give the price of single-vision glasses in the store after the test, because it depends on the power, lenses and frame – choosing always starts with a free eye test. What you really pay for a whole pair of glasses
We quote the price of the whole pair of glasses: frame and lenses together, and the eye test costs PLN 0. There is no "from" price for the frame alone and no discount calculated from an invented price.

Documents – PLN 100
If you need a written result to use elsewhere – a prescription to be filled at another store, a certificate for another specialist or an institution – the document costs PLN 100. The eye test itself remains free; you pay only for issuing the document you take with you.
Glasses on Santander instalments
You don't have to pay for your glasses all at once. In all four KOBAN OPTYK stores — in Oława on Iwaszkiewicza and on Chrobrego, in Oleśnica and in Jelcz-Laskowice — you can buy glasses on Santander instalments. You fill in the application on the spot when you buy; all you need is an ID card; you learn the number of instalments and terms before you sign the agreement. We described how it works step by step in the post Glasses on Santander instalments. Approval of instalments depends on a creditworthiness assessment carried out by the bank.
We accept the Large Family Card and the senior card — show it when you buy glasses.
Frequently asked questions about prices
Is the test definitely free if I don't buy anything?
Yes. An eye test for glasses is free with no condition – you don't have to buy anything or promise anything. The only paid item is a document (prescription or certificate) for use outside KOBAN – PLN 100.
What is the difference between the free consultation and the professional examination?
The specialist consultation (PLN 0) is a quick measurement of your prescription with the DNEye scanner and a talk about the result: you learn what your values are, whether it's worth changing your current glasses and whether you need them at all – also if you're thinking about your first pair. The DNEye professional examination (PLN 300) adds measurements "beyond correction": eye pressure, corneal thickness, addition (reading power) and a cataract assessment.
Why does a prescription for another store cost PLN 100?
We fund the free eye test from the work of our stores – from the glasses and lenses made here. If the result is going to be used elsewhere, you pay for the specialist's time and for issuing the document, not for the test itself.
Why is the range for contact lenses PLN 150–500?
It comes from the type of lenses. Ordinary spherical ones are the quickest to fit; toric and multifocal ones need more precise measurements and more trials. Every price includes a starter pair of lenses (monthly with solution or 10 dailies), training in inserting them and a free check-up.
How much do progressive glasses cost?
Progressive lenses cost from PLN 1000 a pair, that is PLN 500 per lens; the frame is added on top. Price differences come mainly from the lens design – the wider the fields of vision and the smoother the transitions, the higher the price – and from the coatings. At your visit we compare the options and tell you which makes sense for your prescription and lifestyle.
Can I buy glasses in instalments?
Yes – in each of the four KOBAN OPTYK stores you can buy glasses on Santander instalments. You fill in the application on the spot when you buy; all you need is an ID card. The price of the glasses is the same as when paying cash, and you learn the instalment terms before you sign the agreement.

We use the same equipment in all four stores — in Oława, Oleśnica and Jelcz-Laskowice.
Rodenstock DNEye scannerA tower for biometric measurement of the eye. At the free consultation we use it for a quick refractive measurement, and in the professional examination (PLN 300) also to measure eye pressure, corneal thickness and addition, and to assess for cataract. The measurement is analysed by the device's artificial intelligence, so we choose lenses for your eye, not for average values.
Progressive glasses simulatorOn screen we show how you will see in progressive glasses before you order them — split into distance, computer and reading.
Progressive glasses to try in the examination roomYou come in, put on progressive glasses in the examination room and see how you see in them — before buying, not after. No description or simulation can replace that.
GT 5000 scanner — virtual grinding workshopWe scan your current glasses and order lenses on that basis. You don't have to leave them with us: you keep wearing your own glasses throughout the order and hand them in only for the lens replacement. Collection after 2–3 working days.
Eye tests at home and at your companyWe have a full set of mobile equipment including a measuring terminal, so we also carry out a full eye test at the client's place — at home, in a care home and at the workplace.
A consultation with a specialist including a quick refractive measurement with the DNEye scanner, takes 20–30 minutes and is free of charge — always, with no obligation to buy, for adults and for children from age 5. Glasses repairs — we try to save every pair
Before you say "never mind, I'll buy new ones", bring them to us. We do most repairs while you wait, and the harder ones the same day in the stores with their own lab: in Oława on Chrobrego and in Oleśnica.
On the spot, while you waitReplacing nose pads, tightening and replacing screws, replacing flex hinges – the spring-loaded joints between the temple and the front of the frame. Plus adjusting and straightening a frame that has gone out of shape.

What we don't do: we don't polish scratched lenses. Polishing removes the coatings and spoils the image – in that case it's more honest to replace the lens than to pretend to repair it. With glasses under the premium warranty we replace them with new ones, even when they are scratched.

Prescription changed? We replace the lensesUnder the premium warranty a new prescription means new lenses at no extra cost — for the whole year from purchase.
The premium warranty costs 25% of the glasses' price — jednorazowo, przy zamówieniu albo odbiorze okularów. Przy wymianie nie ma żadnych dopłat ani ukrytych kosztów: przynosisz zniszczone okulary, dostajesz nowe (jedna wymiana w ciągu 12 miesięcy). How exactly we measure — the same in each of our four stores
In Oława (Iwaszkiewicza 133B and Chrobrego 20E/III), Oleśnica (Daszyńskiego 5F) and Jelcz-Laskowice (Cicha 43) we test and measure in the same way — for every type of glasses.
- Video centration for every pair of glassesA camera measures the position of the lens relative to the eye — on the measuring towers Carl Zeiss i.Terminal (Chrobrego, Oleśnica, Jelcz-Laskowice) and in the system Rodenstock (Iwaszkiewicza). We do it for single vision, progressive, computer and sports glasses.
- Binocular vision — in every examinationWe check convergence (how the eyes turn inwards for near vision), phorias (latent squint) and accommodation (the eye's ability to focus up close). This matters for children, for close-up work and for headaches.
- Rodenstock DNEye Scanner 2+In every store: a quick refractive measurement at the free consultation (PLN 0), and in the professional examination (PLN 300) also eye pressure, corneal thickness, addition and assessment for cataract.
- Progressive glasses: 30 days to adapt + second pair freeIf you don't get used to progressive glasses within 30 days, we replace the lenses with others free of charge (e.g. two pairs of single vision, office, computer). And with every purchase of HOYA or Diop progressives the second pair of lenses is free.
The examination takes 20–30 minutes and is free — always, even if you don't buy glasses. You try progressive glasses on in the examination room and on the simulator before you order.
You get your result in writing — in a folder
After an examination at any of the four KOBAN stores, you get a folder with your result free of charge. Inside is a printout from the computerised vision measurement, with a description of what each value means.

The computerised measurement printout is indicative only and is not a prescription. We select glasses after a full examination, which is free — always, even if you don't buy glasses.
