- Your prescription – measured with the DNEye Rodenstock scanner (a few seconds), then fine-tuned with trial frames: "which is better – one or two?",
- Visual acuity for distance and near, each eye separately and both together,
- How your eyes work together – alignment, convergence, whether your eyes "fight" each other (a common cause of headaches),
- Your needs – computer, night driving, reading, sports; these decide which lenses make sense,
- Your current glasses or lenses – whether they still suit you or are worth changing.
If the test shows something that needs medical diagnosis, we'll tell you plainly and point you to the right place. An optometrist tests your vision and selects correction; eye diseases are the job of an ophthalmologist.
Who should have their eyes tested – and how often
- Children – first test at age 5, then every year; before school it is a must,
- Adults with no prescription – every 2 years; every year if you work at a computer,
- Over forty – every year; this is when the need for reading correction begins,
- Drivers – every year, especially if lights at night have started to dazzle you,
- Seniors – every year; if getting to us is a problem – we come to your home.
How long it takes and what it costs
- adult: about 30 minutes; child: 20–30 minutes; with choosing glasses: up to an hour,
- the eye test is free and does not oblige you to buy anything,
- a contact lens fitting is a separate, paid examination – from PLN 150,
- a prescription or certificate to use elsewhere – PLN 100.

Frequently asked questions
Is an eye test by an optometrist as good as one by an ophthalmologist?
For choosing glasses and lenses – yes, that is exactly what an optometrist specialises in. Eye diseases (glaucoma, cataract, changes in the retina) are diagnosed and treated by an ophthalmologist; if anything worries us, we refer you to one.
Do I need a referral?
No. You come without a referral, without a prescription, without insurance – the test is free.
Do you put drops in the eyes?
No. The test is non-invasive: you look into a device and at a chart, and try lenses in a trial frame.
How long is the result valid?
Usually a year. For children we test every 6–12 months.
Can I get the result in writing?
We go over the result on the spot. A written prescription or certificate to use elsewhere costs PLN 100.

The equipment we test your eyes and make your glasses with
We use the same equipment in all four stores — in Oława, Oleśnica and Jelcz-Laskowice.
Rodenstock DNEye scannerA tower for biometric measurement of the eye. At the free consultation we use it for a quick refractive measurement, and in the professional examination (PLN 300) also to measure eye pressure, corneal thickness and addition, and to assess for cataract. The measurement is analysed by the device's artificial intelligence, so we choose lenses for your eye, not for average values.
Progressive glasses simulatorOn screen we show how you will see in progressive glasses before you order them — split into distance, computer and reading.
Progressive glasses to try in the examination roomYou come in, put on progressive glasses in the examination room and see how you see in them — before buying, not after. No description or simulation can replace that.
GT 5000 scanner — virtual grinding workshopWe scan your current glasses and order lenses on that basis. You don't have to leave them with us: you keep wearing your own glasses throughout the order and hand them in only for the lens replacement. Collection after 2–3 working days.
Eye tests at home and at your companyWe have a full set of mobile equipment including a measuring terminal, so we also carry out a full eye test at the client's place — at home, in a care home and at the workplace.
A consultation with a specialist including a quick refractive measurement with the DNEye scanner, takes 20–30 minutes and is free of charge — always, with no obligation to buy, for adults and for children from age 5. Professional DNEye examination — PLN 300: measurement of eye pressure, corneal thickness, addition and assessment for cataract. Apart from that, the only things you pay for are documents for use outside our store — a prescription or certificate, PLN 100.

Prescription changed? We replace the lensesUnder the premium warranty a new prescription means new lenses at no extra cost — for the whole year from purchase.
The premium warranty costs 25% of the glasses' price — jednorazowo, przy zamówieniu albo odbiorze okularów. How exactly we measure — the same in each of our four stores
In Oława (Iwaszkiewicza 133B and Chrobrego 20E/III), Oleśnica (Daszyńskiego 5F) and Jelcz-Laskowice (Cicha 43) we test and measure in the same way — for every type of glasses.
- Video centration for every pair of glassesA camera measures the position of the lens relative to the eye — on the measuring towers Carl Zeiss i.Terminal (Chrobrego, Oleśnica, Jelcz-Laskowice) and in the system Rodenstock (Iwaszkiewicza). We do it for single vision, progressive, computer and sports glasses.
- Binocular vision — in every examinationWe check convergence (how the eyes turn inwards for near vision), phorias (latent squint) and accommodation (the eye's ability to focus up close). This matters for children, for close-up work and for headaches.
- Rodenstock DNEye Scanner 2+In every store: a quick refractive measurement at the free consultation (PLN 0), and in the professional examination (PLN 300) also eye pressure, corneal thickness, addition and assessment for cataract.
- Progressive glasses: 30 days to adapt + second pair freeIf you don't get used to progressive glasses within 30 days, we replace the lenses with others free of charge (e.g. two pairs of single vision, office, computer). And with every purchase of HOYA or Diop progressives the second pair of lenses is free.
The examination takes 20–30 minutes and is free — always, even if you don't buy glasses. You try progressive glasses on in the examination room and on the simulator before you order.
You get your result in writing — in a folder
After an examination at any of the four KOBAN stores, you get a folder with your result free of charge. Inside is a printout from the computerised vision measurement, with a description of what each value means.

- PD and R and Lpupil distance in millimetres, right and left eye separately
- QR code for bookingon the last page — scan it with your phone and book your next test without calling
The computerised measurement printout is indicative only and is not a prescription. We select glasses after a full examination, which is free — always, even if you don't buy glasses.
